The Wings Over Western Kentucky Air Show takes place at the Madisonville Regional Airport in Madisonville, KY 162 Airport Rd, Madisonville, KY 42431
No tickets are required! The Wings Over Western Kentucky Air Show is 100% free to attend.
Free event parking is located across the street and adjacent to the entrance to the Madisonville Regional Airport. Please follow the directions of law enforcement and air show volunteers to your parking space.
Handicap and motorcycle parking is located at the main airport parking lot (first come, first served). Please let the traffic volunteer or law enforcement officer at the entrance know of your request and provide proper credentials.
The air show will go on rain or shine, however severe weather or low clouds may hinder some flying activities. There is no rain date.
Yes! Folding chairs and blankets are welcomed and encouraged.
Gates open at approximately 2:00pm for this year's Wings over Western Kentucky Air Show.
For security reasons, we are unable to provide individual performer start times. All acts are subject to change sometimes with little to no notice. The air show will begin at approximately 5:00pm and last for about two hours, with a 30 minute intermission halfway through to allow it to become darker for the night displays. Please follow our social media channels for further information on air show performance times.
Attendees are welcome to bring collapsible or folding chairs, cameras, blankets, umbrellas (small not to block the view of others), baby strollers, diaper bags for small children, strollers, and small personal items. All items will be subject to search.
Illegal substances, coolers, glass containers, skateboards, scooters, or personal motorized vehicles, lasers, bicycles, carts or wagons, fireworks, toy guns, water guns, helium balloons, illegal substances, non-collapsible chairs, popup tents, pets (except for service animals), drones or remote control aircraft, outside food/drink, and aerosol containers are not permitted within the event grounds. Unauthorized solicitations, handbills, sampling or giveaways, or unauthorized vending is also not allowed and will be enforced by local law enforcement.
No. A temporary flight restriction has been put into place for the air show. Drones will not be allowed anywhere in or near the event or within 5 nautical miles of the Madisonville Regional Airport (2I0) as per the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Violators face confiscation and up to a $230,000 fine. This will be strictly enforced and drone detection technology will be in effect.
Air shows are noisy places, and for the safety of all patrons, pets are NOT allowed on the event grounds except for required, approved, and documented service animals. We appreciate your cooperation to keep everyone safe, including our fury friends!
Yes! There are various family friendly activities for children of all ages. There will be no shortage of things to see and do both in the air and on the ground.
The majority of the tarmac is wheelchair accessible, however some displays and areas may be difficult to reach (i.e. grass).
Yes, a variety of general aviation aircraft will be on static display throughout the day.
Yes, but please be aware of the NOTAM and published TFR for the closure of the airport during the formal flying display. The airport will be closed to fly-in traffic approximately 1 hour prior to the start of the show and will reopen at the conclusion. Transient/visitor aircraft parking is located on the west end of the parallels taxiway where you will then be escorted to the show grounds to enjoy the event. Please note transient parking space is limited and comes via a first come, first served basis.

Unfortunately not. The Wings over Western Kentucky Air Show is an intimate event and takes place on-site the Madisonville Regional Airport. Due to federal requirements to maintain the integrity of the sterile safety areas as per the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), you will likely not be able to view the show from anyplace but except on-site.
No, there is no live streaming planned for the 2025 event. Please be cautious when interacting with fraudulent social media posts, especially when links ask for personal details or credit card information. The Wings Over Western Kentucky Air Show can only be seen by attending in-person!
