Take Flight!
Whether it's a flight in a classic Douglas DC-3 airliner, a ride aboard a World War II B-25 Mitchell bomber, or a quick flight around the area in a Robinson R-44 helicopter, purchasing a flight high above Madisonville and Hopkins County will make for an exciting and memorable experience!
Please note that ride flights are operated independently from the airshow.

1937 Douglas DC-3 "Flagship Detroit"

Take flight on one of the most historic aircraft in history. Wings over Western Kentucky is pleased to welcome the Flagship Detroit Foundation and the 1937 Douglas DC-3. American Airlines operated "Flagship Detroit" in passenger service up through 1947, and during its time as a revenue-generating airliner even flew First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt on several occasions.
Flagship Detroit will be on static display during the air show and also conducting ride flights on Friday, October 6, and on Saturday, October 7. Rides are sold on-site only on a first-come, first-served basis as space is available. Learn more about DC-3 rides here.

1944 B-25 Mitchell Bomber "Show Me"

The B-25 Mitchell "Show Me" was delivered to the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1945 after being built for the war effort by North American Aviation in 1944. This TB-25J bomber was used as a trainer for well over a decade before being placed in storage at Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona. Today, it is one of just a handful of authentic airworthy World War II B-25 bombers flying in the world.
Show Me will be on static display during the air show and also conducting ride flights on Friday, October 6, and on Sunday, October 7. Rides can be booked online through their website, and on a first-come, first-served basis as space is available. Learn more about B-25 rides here.

Robinson R-44 Helicopter

As the world's top-selling civilian helicopter, the Robinson R-44 is a quality choice among flight schools, sightseeing companies, police departments, and recreational pilots. Take a quick hop around the Madisonville area onboard one of these popular Robinson R-44 helicopters!
Robinson R-44 helicopter rides will be available on Saturday, October 7 only, and will take place throughout the day. The R-44 can accommodate up to 3 passengers* (weight and balance restrictions may apply), and tickets can be purchased on-site by visiting the helicopter rides booth.

Cost: $45/person
